Dead & Company - Alpine Valley, WI

Just saw the 7/9 and 7/10 Dead & Co. shows at Alpine Valley. Love this venue setting in the rural , rolling hills farmland of Wisconsin. Lots of great music history and sadly the tragic death of SRV. Both nights temps were in the high 60's with no humidity - awesome concert weather.
Sat 7/9 - solid show as the 2nd set was jammin'
Set 1 :
Wheel (tease to open) >
Cassidy
Brown Eyed Women
I Need a Miracle
Dire Wolf
Ramble On Rose
Box of Rain
The Music Never Stopped
Set 2:
Deal
Eyes of the World
St. Stephen
The Other One
Drums > Space
A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall
Help on the Way >
Slipknot! >
Franklin's Tower
One More Saturday Night
Encore:
Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Sun 7/10 (set list below) was simply amazing and probably one of the top 5 GD shows (or variation of the band) I've seen. John Mayer is the real deal as this dude can flat out play guitar. He's earned the respect and appreciation from older Dead Heads who laughed and blew him off when it was announced he would be part of the band. Obviously he's not Jerry , but IMO Mayer is the next closest thing we'll have. The trio of Mayer, Jeff Chimenti (keyboards) and Oteil Burbridge (bass) have helped breathe new life in Bobby, Mickey, and Bill. If the later 3 can stay healthy (all in their 70's) , the Dead & Company will hopefully be around for another 5+ years. I highly encourage any Dead Head, Phish fan, or WSP listener to catch a show as it reminds me of the the good Ol' days
Set 1:
Samson and Delilah
Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo
Loose Lucy
Standing on the Moon
Crazy Fingers
Althea
Going Down the Road Feelin' Bad
Set 2:
Sugar Magnolia >
Viola Lee Blues
Scarlet Begonias >
Fire on the Mountain
Drums > Space
Wharf Rat
Sunshine Daydream
Encore:
Ripple
Touch of Grey
View from ski lodge balcony looking down hill towards stage / amphitheater. There were 3 sections of seating including the lawn - left , center, and right. My seats were left side section, 15 rows from stage. Ski lifts and hill can be seen in upper left corner

Damn, that looks awesome. Each set list shits on what I saw in Charlotte

I've been listening to a lot of Dead & Co the past week or so. John Mayer should have been with them for Fare Thee Well instead of Trey. There, I said it.

One of my favorite venues. Saw GD there in ''87 and and '89 and JGB in '89 too. Always stayed at Mequanigo. 2nd and 3rd night in '89 were a mud fest and the venue dropped ball by making all vehicles leave and then reenter after each night. The ski lift is where SRV's helicopter crashed.
