quote:

As a child, Uhtred witnessed his father being killed and the Saxon army defeated by invading troops. Danish warlord Earl Ragnar captured Uhtred and raised him in a Danish camp alongside fellow captive Brida, a sharp-tongued girl. Years later, Uhtred is a valiant warrior who is dealt another tragic blow when his home is deliberately set on fire, killing his surrogate family, including Ragnar. Now exiled -- alone except for Brida by his side -- he vows to avenge Ragnar's death and reclaim his homeland. But, he must choose between his birth country and the people who raised him. If he is going to help birth a new nation and ultimately recapture his ancestral land he must walk dangerous path between both sides.

Just finished first season.... Its on par with Vikings...maybe better in some ways.

Watched it this past year. It was On Demand, aired on BBC. Legit show, Similar to Vikings.

I agree. I saw it this past year on BBC as well. Had that thing set for DVR each week. Really really liked it. With it, Thrones, Vikings, and Marco, my favorite genre took care of me this year

It's not bad I view it as a Sequel to Vikings itself.

Watched this last winter. I also read the books UT ears ago.

Both were very, very good.

Can't wait for season two.

The books are excellent. Bernard Cornwell crushes historical fiction. Definitely watching this tonight.

Vikings lost me in the middle of this season, couldn't keep dealing with the Asian Opium scenes and shite with his manly wife. Should I finish the season?

Yes, it gets better. The end of the season is as good as the show has ever been.

I dislike how he treated his first wife. I really do. They had chemistry but he's all up in arms. He could have played it smart about Obba fricking him over but nope, he decided to challenge the King's Authority.

On the Flip side, I wish Uthred did tell Alfred to kiss his arse and left Wessex to burn. frick Alfred and that kneeling shite.

That shield Wall battle at the end was pretty damn stupid. You got the english on one side, Vikings on the others and fricking SORCPA ride through the English side, butcher the girl, and then ride back in BEHIND the fricking English lines!

Like... WTF? Really? Where's their counter Calvary?!

Their shield wall battle is pretty cool, I wonder if it is better than a Roman shield wall as the Roman only use a single person to old a shield to form the wall while the Vikings uses three.
