New to BR... Advice on Mayoral Race

I probably should have put this on the politics board but wanted the OT's responses more.
This is my first post. I moved here a couple of months ago for a job and like it here for the most part. It definitely beats the frick out of North Louisiana.
Anyway, my question is about the upcoming election. What is the quick rundown on the candidates? Kip seems all right from what I read. Seems more like a moderate DINO than the typical minority democrat mayors a lot of cities are cursed with, but unfortunately he's termed out here soon.
Basically I just wanna know who Gary Chambers is supporting so I can vote the complete opposite.

There's about 10 candidates running currently. Just avoid voting for Denise Marcelle or Smokey Bourgeois. They represent what is worst about Baton Rouge from both ends of the spectrum.

I'm sorry... and it won't get any better.

If a Republican doesn't win in the primary election, a Republican won't win in the runoff.

Take a shite in your hand and smear it all over your face with your mouth open. That's the equivalent of the candidates we have to choose from.

Denise Marcelle
Here's the breakdown:
Marcelle (D): race-baiting metro-council woman turned state rep
Weston-Broome (D): race-baiting state rep who is significantly less embarrassing than Marcelle
Delgado (R): sleaze bag metro-council man/bar owner who called St. George proponents terrorists
Smokey (I): the bar owner who lost his city council seat to Delgado and is now the corrupt head of the liquor license board
Bodi White (R): the corrupt state rep who shamelessly built his political career by backing the incorporation movements of Central and St. George.
Of those, Bodi and Smokey are probably the least distasteful.
EDIT:
LaFleur (D): former NFL player and longtime Athletic Director for Southern University. He was fired in 2011 due to being charged with solicitation of a prostitute. He was later acquitted of any wrongdoing and won his wrongful termination suit against the University. I could be wrong, but I don't believe any of the sanctions or scandals occurred under his watch, but they did win a Black College Football Championship. While lacking political experience, he definitely has the right temperament and attitude for the job.

As much as I hate to admit it... of those that stand a chance I might have to vote Delgado.

Vote for Darryl Gissel baw.

that is one bad list with a huge drop off from the kip years. We need Gary to run for mayor.

Is Sharon a race-baiter?
I've found her to be much more plesant to work with than Marcelle, Banks-Daniel, Ted James, etc.

Looks like the who's who of garbage.

She's nowhere near as bad as many, but she has been full bore behind BLM this week.

Imagine how bad these protest would be under any of those listed as leaders of BR. One person on that list was wearing a bullet hole shirt and protesting in the streets. A good portion of BR would probably be on fire right now if she had her way.

Eh. I saw her at the Youth March yesterday that was permitted and peaceful.
While I don't agree with their stance, I don't have an issue with that.

Her stance could be dangerous though because she might try the Baltimore model of not handling the protesters and just letting them run rough shod as they please.
