Obviously they would have to eat part of the contract. But the Angels arent going anywhere as constructed. Dump Pujols, can probably rebuild fairly quickly around Trout with their huge payroll

Albert Pujols is likely the most untradeable player in baseball. If miraculously they could find someone to take on even half of his contract, like the Dodgers did to the Padres with Matt Kemp, they should jump on it though.

If the Angels eat about $140 million of his remaining salary, he'd look nice on the Astros bench. Can't hurt us from our dugout.

07-09 or so he was the best player in all of baseball. What happened to him?

I equate Pujols to Billy Bats in Goodfellas.

He's still putting up decent numbers, but 3/4 of the country is in bed asleep when these West coast teams are playing.

I have to wake up and watch the MLB network to see what all the West coast super stars did.

Considering the contract and his decline in play I can't imagine they would get hardly anything for him

I mean hardly anything

The only way the Angels could trade Pujols is if they paid down 80%+ of his contract or paired Mike Trout with him.

Age + linger foot issues

They say it so much it gets tiresome but when you lose your lower half that generates most of your power any hitter really is gonna have a hard time

You can compare his stance from each year 2012-2016 and see how much he's changed it to compensate for it
