Backing in to parking spot

My wife (no pics) works in the medical field. At her office, she has noticed a trend that some people tend to back into their backing spot, patients and staff. For whatever reason, it's almost 100% AA's who do this.
This is not a flame, I am genuinely curious, why?

Bc it's the most recommended way according to most defensive driving courses.

Easier to back into a spot and it's quicker/safer when leaving.

Always back in. It's safer in almost every way

If shite goes down easiest way to pull out

Easier to pull out (TWSS). Obviously it's a no-no if there is a lot of other traffic in the lot.

I am not AA and I do it.

It's easier to back in any large size vehicle into a parking spot when the spot is tight, and it makes it a lot easier to pull the same large vehicle out.

no idea what the answer to your question is, but we are required to do it when driving company vehicles.

"Safety reasons" for allowing people to get out quicker during an emergency. Lot of oilfield companies require this.

This is new
I only back into my parking spot on Fridays. And I got the idea from a non-black person.
I'm the only AA who ever parks this way at my building, so take it for what it's worth.

More importantly, why drive around with your windows down when it is 95+ outside instead of using the car AC? I am talking a new car that obviously has AC.

It's the recommended practice... most parking lot accidents happen when someone is backing out of a space and can't see traffic in the lanes around other vehicles because your car/truck's back end is sticking out first... so if you back into the space while you can see other traffic, you can just pull out of the space without having to back out with your vision impaired.
The actual recommended way is to pull through whenever possible so you never have to put it in reverse, but backing in is second best.

Especially with a truck (long wheel base vehicle), it is much easier to back into a spot than to pull in. Also it is safer to pull out of a spot forward than backing up

I understand doing it at some jammed concert/athletic parking lot where you want to make a break for it after. But, backing in your rig at the gym seems

It is for safety purposes, we have the same "mandate" at my office as well.
I don't mind it at all, one of my jobs during college was a valet at a major hospital where you have to park like this.

You don't spend $20 on stick-on chrome-painted side vents to have them wasted by pulling in to your parking spot.

Like everyone said already, it's safer. My dad taught me to back in, for the convenience of leaving.
