Not really, no 10 bit display makes the HDR feature pretty useless, and the 60Hz native motion rate is a pretty big killer too. Those cheap 4K tv's just aren't worth it, especially if you're already going up to 1K.

I certainly can't recommend it unless you just absolutely have to get a TV right now and can't wait.

Comes down to this simple question for you:

Do you want a cheap TV now at that price point that in a years time will be a well below average TV, or do you find it worth it to wait until fall sales and get a great TV that will be good for many years?

As for that TV specifically, no. The Samsung JS7000 from 2015 is around that same price point and at least has a quantum dot display with HDR. That's your bes
