After what KD just did there will be a lock out. The new CBA was created to prevent this from happening and spread out the talent and it failed horribly

what, exactly?
you think the NBA is going to attack free agency?

My god.
The CBA had nothing to do with Curry having bad ankles, signing below market value, then exploding into maybe the best offensive player ever
The CBA had nothing to do with Draymond Green becoming the prototype modern big in 2016. Or with David Lee getting hurt to allow him to actually play
The CBA had nothing to do with an unforeseen, massive influx of TV money coming into the league and allowing GS to keep their top 4 players and add a future HOF player under 30
The CBA had nothing to do with moronic hot takes about choking and ringZzz
Now, if you want to argue max contracts are bad/dumb, go right ahead. Durant didnt take a discount, from what I have seen, to sign in GS. They have the money for many reasons beyond the CBA, but an artificial max certainly made it more possible.
A hard cap would be the dumbest and most short-sighted thing owners could do. The (fear of) the luxury tax screwed small market OKC from keeping their core. A hard cap would be more of the same for all teams. Cutting your nose to spite your face

Not one that costs games, the league has too much momentum to have a work stoppage. Teams are making more money than ever, players are making more money than ever, it's not in anyone's interest to lose games and momentum by having a Billionaires vs Millionaires fight that the fans always hate.
What the league should do is give the players back some money, maybe just .5% or 1% max, and in exchange they get all the structural changes they want, age rules, franchise tag, etc. CP3 and LeBron may be running the union right now, but I don't think they can take a stand against rules that serve the 1% and cost the 99% actual money. Divide and conquer.

And yet NBA will break ratings and attendance records this year. It's a compelling narrative and as much as th 73 win Warriors generated interest this year, next year is going to be even more over the top after losing to Lebron and signing KD. People will either love them or hate them, but everybody is going to watch.
