I mean, yeah sure.

But 10 teams at least could offer better packages.

Sure, 10 teams could offer more than us, but what team is giving up assets for 1 year of westbrook? What team is giving up assets for a player that they have a good chance of signing next summer?

There are very few teams that could actually make a trade happen, because it would be GM suicide to trade anything of long term value for Westbrook.

If we can convince Presti to take Jrue, Reke, and a pick for Westbrook that would be great. Jrue and Reke are expirings, so OKC will have assloads of cap room and they'll get their high lotto pick and our pick as well.

Boston can beat our offer, but other teams around the league aren't going to offer young potential on great contracts for one year of westbrook. Lakers aren't going to offer shite if they think they are the favorite to land him next season.

I mean, I don't think there's any way we can land westbrook in a trade, but I really don't think many teams will be lining up a big trade for him. Why offer long term assets if he's gone after one season? Why offer long term assets if you're confident in signing him next summer?

The best we could hope for would be if some team offered us a 1st for, say, Tyreke, and we could offer Jrue, Buddy, Diallo, 2 2017 1sts and a 2019 1st.

This would blow any other teams offer out of the fricking water imo, AND it would basically destroy us as a franchise if and when he doesn't re sign with us.

You're way off. If he is willing to consider your team, then you are at a huge advantage in the recruiting process having a full year to sell him on your vision and having his bird rights.

Think about what CP3 got us.
EG, who had just come off a healthy year scoring 22ppg and was only 22 years old. Closest thing to that is Jrue now, and as crazy as it sounds, EG was worth a lot more then than Jrue is now.
Kaman, who was a decent enough 5. Ajinca comparison sort of, although Kaman is probably a good bit better.
Aminu, who was the 8th overall pick the year before, who was very young and raw, but didn't look that great yet. I guess you could call Buddy this, although Buddy now is probalby worth more than Aminu was after his 1st season.
Top 10 pick from Minnesota (Austin Rivers ). Our first next year.

So to compare it to CP3's trade, Jrue/Buddy/Ajinca and next years first for 1 year of Westbrook.
Clippers got 2 years of CP3 before he became a FA.

To say you wouldn't take Westbrook for a year with AD is just silly. The only piece we have outside of AD that has any real future is Buddy, and i'd trade Buddy's potential, even though i'm probably his biggest fan here, for a year of Westbrook, knowing he might leave us after that year.
Westbrook
Moore/Qpon
Hill
AD
Doofus

That is easily a playoff team, and if they have the cap space after the year, after making a good showing, maybe it becomes a lot easier to get a guy like Gordon Hayward to come here to team up with Westbrook and AD. If you can see Hill play that small ball 4 well this year, and then you have a lineup of
Westbrook
Moore/Qpon
Hayward
Hill
AD
That's a championship level team right there, assuming Hill and Moore are worth a shite.
