Just Like Every Year, It's Not The QB But The OL...

The offensive line will determine our W-L record this year, not how well BH does. It's almost always the big uglies that make it all happen, or not...

Actually this is a fair and far reaching statement.
Our improved talent and depth should pay dividends this year.
The line faded late and it was because of a lack of experienced depth.
Young studs coming up appear more athletic.

Doesn't matter how good the OL is, if the qb is no threat to pass and the play calling is predictable, we're gonna see Bama and Arkansas type performances by the offense.

I'm gonna say it's the QB. While I understand what you're saying, and agree that they play a huge role, QB play has not been close to where it needs to be.

LSU changed the offense against Arkansas. Ran Harris out of the shotgun.
If you can't establish the run and be able to stop it. Bama and Arkansas will continue to beat us.

We are a run team first.
We will throw and beat you also.
Fournette is a gift.

Lsu multiple OL injuries going into Bama and the end of the season.

The OL was so overrated at the beginning of the year last year and you saw the difference in run blocking once FB Moore was injured. It got even worse when we had to play defensive lines with a pulse in November. I contribute that a lot to youth though (in the Ole Miss game we had a true freshman fullback, a true freshman right tackle, a true freshman guard, and a redshirt freshman guard).

Lost Robinson and Moore and it certainly hurt. I do think there's great potential for this oline. I love what I saw out of Weathersby last year, they need to find a starter out of Dodd, Boutte, Brumfield or Malone and I think they will. I'd really like to see it be Brumfield, I think he's the most athletic of that group.

QB is more important right now. I am skeptical of the OL this year, though.

U need both. But LSU can't seem to get a top QB or we just can't coach them. Seems like every Nov. we say wait till next year! With 18 starter returning, I think Les better do it this year!

Uhh, you realize why our offense was shite in those games, right? The OL was getting their shite pushed in to Brandon Harris's lap every single play.

Its all about completing 3rd and six passes when you have too. So far, in his career, BH hasn't been able to do that. No question you need good OL play but if we can't force opponents out of 8 man fronts, nothing will really change. We'll beat the cup cakes and fall to the big boys, ho hum.

LsuTool you are no tool. You are exactly right. Harris doesn't need to be an all American but he does need to be able to hit short and intermediate passes to keep the defense off balanced and guessing. So far in his career it has been the long ball or nada. Simply has to improve in this area. If he does , then LF will be even more dominant!

I somewhat agree with you.
OL plays a bigger part of the offense than some want to admit.
But make no mistake, Harris needs to bring his A game for this team to reach expectations.

I do agree it all starts in the trenches, but Harris need to get better, significantly better, at the passes that can compensate for times when the line is not dominating. It's the short quick passes that he struggles the most with accuracy on to this point.
