Rich Hill has already thrown 64 innings, that is the most he has thrown in a season since 2007

No way am I trusting him in the 2nd half

id be willing to buy low on hill to make him our back end guy so we dont have to keep relying on bolsinger while we wait on ryu, mccarthy, anderson and wood to get healthy again. depending on how those four come back, we may not even need to rely on him outside of giving us quality innings to eat up. id be open to making the move, even while understanding we cant be sure how he will keep pitching as he keeps piling on innings, if we can get him for a packaged centered around a prospect like ross stripling or jharel cotton instead of one centered around jose de leon or yadier alvarez or grant holmes which is what they other two will probably cost

Mets

The offense may be unfixable this year so everything comes down to the staff carrying the Mets and maybe some bats get hot.

Hopefully deGrom starts rounding into form. Harvey continues to figure out his mechanics problems. Matz has a bone spurs in his elbow so we are on pins and needles waiting to see what happens there. Thor has had some "discomfort" in his elbow too. If the staff doesnt get straight no roster moves will matter.

I think we are seeing part of a hangover from the stress put on the staff going all the way into late October.

we just picked up Reyes, he wont turn the offense around by himself but he will hopefully be better than Cabrera at SS. Flores will continue to play 3rd and provide very little offense. There is talk of trading for Yunel Escobar but I dont see where that makes much of a difference. 32yr/o Cuban FA Youlieski Gourriel worked out for Alderson but they wont get into the bidding frenzy for him if the staff falls apart.

Conforto got sent down to AAA so maybe he comes back after the ASB, Cespedes has been pretty mediocre this season. After the WS run I am sort of resigned to a middle of the pack finish this year
