My wife and I are flipping a house, and we were discussing fixtures the other day. I have a fan in our kitchen now and I love it, but I'm wondering what most people think, so I come to the chefs of the FDB- fan or light fixture in your kitchen?

Have one. Love it. One of the best decisions I made. You can always turn it off if it's not needed, but you can't turn one on that isn't there. :)

I want as much light in the kitchen as I can get. I personally wouldn't want a fan blowing in the kitchen. Sometimes my vent hood will scatter flour and light seasonings as add them to a dish. If I did have a fan, I would imagine the blades would get nasty quick. They would have to be cleaned often.

Absolutely not. Unless you have a dedicated daily cleaning person!

We have had them both ways and Put a fan in the kitchen of our new house. I will tell you next week whether it interferes with the hood which is in the garage, still not installed. The houses we have had in the past with a fan in the kitchen have all been fine.

As for me, I like the way it looks.
