Has anyone ever heard of APR? Do you know what that means? It is a scale, set up by the NCAA, to make sure that Coaches do not simply get rid of players and have tryouts with no penalty or scholarship assessment against them. If a player leaves for medical reasons or just wants to quit, it does not count against the university. However, if a coach gets rid of a player, he loses points. So, how a player leaves, actually determines how many scholarships that athletic program is allowed to use. So, there is a big difference in "cutting" a player, and him leaving on his own. So, how many players in the last decade have left on their own?

Ours has been low, but why? I figured it was from football players leaving early or transferring. It makes sense, we arent graduating players like we did the first half of Les tenure.

But according to you, none of those should count against LSU. Yet last time I saw a ranking, LSU was at or very near to last in the sec.

You're wrong here. If a student transfers and are in good academic standing you get 1/2 instead of the full 2 points per player progressing through their academic program. So them leaving still hurts, but not to the tune of 0/2 points per player. You just said a bunch of stuff to sound smart but have no concept of how it actually works. And it was created for academic incentives for coaches if their players kept up with their academics. Has nothing to do with cutting kids for no just reason. It's called "academic" progress rate for a reason.
