I would rather make my battle plans knowing every detail. If they had the ability to wait one day and double their forces, then they would have been taken seriously during the negation phase and possibly could have made a deal to save their brother. As it is now they have taken Winterfell but have, because of Sansa, have another foreign army within the gates. LF is now King of the North

You're right. Telling Jon that he may or may not get 3,000 more soldiers would be a huge help.

If you want to discuss whether she should have informed him when she sent the request, you may have a point.

What don't you understand about the conversation they had where she basically said "Our brother is already dead if Ramsey has him"? That forced Jon into action if he wanted to save him. There was no more time to wait to see if additional forces MAY show up even if Sansa did inform him.

ETA: Not only that, but SHE DID TELL HIM TO HOLD OFF THE ATTACK UNTIL THEY GATHERED MORE FORCES. More than once and he didn't listen. Jon is as much to blame for the deaths of his men as Sansa is. He acted irrationally once he found out about his brother rather than spending more time gathering all the men he possibly could.

What does telling him vs. not telling him have to do with this? The wildlings and forces Jon had gathered were 90% foot soldiers while the Vail force was entirely cavalry. The only way they were defeating the Bolton forces was with the Vail knights being the predominant defense to Winterfell once the battle was over. Her telling Jon or not wouldn't change this.

Again, you can't get past "Sansa is a bitch" long enough to understand that she did what she had to to take back Winterfell. Was is ruthless? Yes, it was, but to act like it was unnecessary is ignorant.
