Agreed.
I understand the story of this family being drug into wars that aren't their own and losing too many to it...
But I'm saying that they really haven't earned a happy ending either..
Feel bad for them.. trust that snow can fight, bran can do super power stuff, Arya is now a super assassin, Sansa has harnessed the power of back-stabbyness... but the only hope is that a bunch of dragons fly in , kill a white walker or two.. and then the mother of dragons says.. "hey, you stark folk people are sweet and dumb.. just keep guarding that super awesome wall".. fin.

When I was a team leader in the Army we would have mission briefs. If I knew information pertinent to the mission it's not my leaderships responsility to go down the line asking people for information. It's my responsibility to inform leadership so they can change plans accordingly. She willingly withheld information that potentially cost hundreds of lives.

Considering that Ned played a major role in overthrowing the Targaryans, I doubt dany shows them any remorse
All the adults did dumb shite to get themselves killed and it's put the kids in terrible spots.
This is a story of how they overcome. And yes they will make mistakes too
There probably won't be a happy ending.

a good leader gets input on strategies from anyone who might help achieve victory
sansa waited till after the war council to confront jon since she wasn't part of the war council and so it wouldn't create a scene in front of his men.
bottom line, by not including her in the war council jon failed to respect her importance

He also tried his best to have her not killed as a child which Varys knows (and im sure Tyrion as well)
Plus she will eventually find out (as everyone does) that Ned Stark protected her nephew (and possible lover ) from certain death by parading him around the north as his bastard

She was standing there the entire time, she could have easily spoken up. Nobody that mattered would have stopped her from speaking, Davos is the Onion Knight, Jon is her brother, and Tormund knows little of tactical warfare and comes from a society where men and women are equals.

"Starks, lannisters, these are enemies" -Grey Worm
Yea,we know this as viewers but will Dany find out or even care.
The North is ravaged by wars, and winter is approaching. She probably wants nothing to do with that mess. They'll probably bend the knee just like 300 years ago anyways.
If she's made aware of Jons parents somehow then I think his claim to the throne would be more legit than hers. Who knows
It's going to be chaos and great tv

Hell I wish they should would have had Lady Lyanna at the war table. That way it would have cleared any doubts that Stansa either willingly or tragically almost doomed Jons army. Jon did himself no favors by giving up the defensive, but Ramsey was never going to charge a fortified position when he could have easily just gone back to his castle and waited until hunger or low moral dwindled his numbers.

of course women are many times just standing there the whole time because the men don't include them in their plans because they don't really respect their opinion.
the men expect the women to speak up with force and command. then when the women do, the men complain about their feminist ways. it's a catch 22. so a woman is many times the quiet one in the background. that's where a good leader has to step in and get input from those that are not the most outspoken.

I feel like you're intentionally dancing around the fact that she had plenty of time to tell Jon about the possibility of more forces. like what was stated before that no one in the room had ever shown any signs of mistreating women, and in fact are some of the most progressive characters in the entire show. I guess you could argue that she was so traumatized that she doesn't trust males, or more likely scenario is that LF has her under his control and planned this whole thing.

Nice try. Has Arya, Cersei's, Yara, Carelyn, or Margery needed other people to ask them what they think? No, they just go ahead and say it. It's how a grown up communicate. You don't stand around and wait for people to ask your opinions like a waiter at a restaurant.
And what's her response when Jon asked? "I don't know". It's one thing to have a solution and getting mad about being ignored. But to have no solutions and getting mad for being ignored is rediculous.
Next time, try that at a work meeting and see how it works out. Just bitch about not getting asked for inputs. Then saying "I don't know" when asked.
I see that she's goodlooking and some of you are compelled to defend her like any hot girl in life. But when you see BS behavior, you gotta have balls to call people out.

People in this thread are fricking stupid. It's baffling, to be honest.
Serious question:
If you were going into battle, would you rather be told that help is possibly coming and it not show up or would you rather be ignorant to the possibility and have it come unexpectedly? Would you rather plan your battle around reinforcements that may or may not show up or would you rather plan your attack with what you know you have?
Seriously people, think about it. Sansa let Jon and Davos make their plans with what they were certain they had while she waited anxiously to see whether Little Finger would even show. Hell, the line about not being taken by Bolton alive proved she had no idea whether the Vail knights were coming.
I swear, some of you can't see past the tip of your fricking noses.

I would rather make my battle plans knowing every detail. If they had the ability to wait one day and double their forces, then they would have been taken seriously during the negation phase and possibly could have made a deal to save their brother. As it is now they have taken Winterfell but have, because of Sansa, have another foreign army within the gates. LF is now King of the North

You're right. Telling Jon that he may or may not get 3,000 more soldiers would be a huge help.
If you want to discuss whether she should have informed him when she sent the request, you may have a point.

What don't you understand about the conversation they had where she basically said "Our brother is already dead if Ramsey has him"? That forced Jon into action if he wanted to save him. There was no more time to wait to see if additional forces MAY show up even if Sansa did inform him.
ETA: Not only that, but SHE DID TELL HIM TO HOLD OFF THE ATTACK UNTIL THEY GATHERED MORE FORCES. More than once and he didn't listen. Jon is as much to blame for the deaths of his men as Sansa is. He acted irrationally once he found out about his brother rather than spending more time gathering all the men he possibly could.
quote:

What does telling him vs. not telling him have to do with this? The wildlings and forces Jon had gathered were 90% foot soldiers while the Vail force was entirely cavalry. The only way they were defeating the Bolton forces was with the Vail knights being the predominant defense to Winterfell once the battle was over. Her telling Jon or not wouldn't change this.
Again, you can't get past "Sansa is a bitch" long enough to understand that she did what she had to to take back Winterfell. Was is ruthless? Yes, it was, but to act like it was unnecessary is ignorant.

Sansa being a bitch is the best thing that has happened to her character. She's learning how to play the game and now she's learning how to win at the game.
Good for her.
Good for her.

getting anally raped in a personal prison brought about by the men in her life...tends to make one a bitch.
