My gmail account has been randomly deleting all of my emails for the past couple of weeks. I called gmail services and they said it was a virus and for $100 they could fix the problem. Is this something yall have seen or heard about before?

You did not call Google. If gmail really did have a virus, Google would be flipping their collective shite trying to root it out and would most definitely not be charging users to fix it.
ETA: Try using a new password.

I will bet your last dollar that this "gmail services" you called is probably some outfit in Russia that has absolutely nothing to do with Google.

Sounds like of like the Windows Support company that calls me at least weekly to tell me my computer is "throwing off viruses" and they can fix it for me. But they are out of India, not Russia. I asked them if I could speak to someone higher up, the dude told me I didn't have the credit to talk to anyone else.

I'd tell him, "I have a computer AIDS virus that I'm sending you right now and there is nothing you can do to stop it!
Except pay me $1,000"

I'm about halfway tempted to hook up a really old PC running windows 95 with nothing else on it and let him get in there just to see what he does.
What's the absolute worst that can happen? Delete all my files? Lock it up? So what.

And enable two factor auth.
this is key. the next step after compromising email is to move to other accounts, like your bank.

Nah. Just have a good backup plan, it's a good idea if your hardware fails anyway.

What would personal hardware failing have to do with gmail?
