Don't feel bad bro. I bought that Lily drone for $500 mack in March of last year. Pretty sure my money is gone as well. I did pay with my visa card tho.

i am guessing they use the term "donation" to legally not owe you anything if the product is not delivered....that fricking sucks.

Threaten an all out social media assault on them. Make it clear it's not about the money, it's about the principle, and you'll spend every minute till your last dying breathe making sure everyone knows that they're an untrustworthy shite of a company.

Have a FB page ready named (insertcompanynamehere)sucks, to let them know you mean business.

Then just dispute it on your CC.

Kickstarter/Indiegogo are different than gofundme and the other crowd sourcers.

You can donate if you choose, but, normally, they will have different levels of sponsorships. It sounds like WC signed up for a level to receive a Butterleye when production is completed, but they are 7 months behind.

I would be pissed, too.

They raised $635K.

I have made it very clear to them that I expect a resolution to completion and to my liking. And that I will be sharing my buying and customer service experience with others.

I've given them every opportunity to make it "right" by me.

Maybe I used the wrong "term," but the kick starter project is through Indiegogo.

I just want my product that I paid for and no more excuses. Either deliver the product or refund me my money. That's it.

I linked the page. You still paid $220 to receive a camera, cables, etc.

It's not a donation.

In most cases, you're buying a product for future delivery.

That's not how kickstarter/indiegogo works. Please know what you're getting into when you get involved with crowd funding. It's an investment, not a SKU you're purchasing.

LINK

They have to make reasonable attempts to reconcile the time difference for failed delivery. If they've been communicating frequently, they'll likely charge you back. There's quite a bit of information on Indiegogo's site about this. LINK

Really they sound like a shite company and will probably go out of business with that customer service. It makes no sense to not refund you the $200.

If you can convince just 2 other people not to do business with them then they've lost money.

Idiots.

Four weeks later, on Nov 28, 2011, Quest posted an update explaining that the Hanfree project had officially failed, and said he planned to offer refunds to backers.

quote:

It wasn't enough for Singh. Kickstarter's terms make it clear that project creators must "refund any backer whose reward they do not or cannot fulfill." So when weeks passed without receiving one, Singh threatened a lawsuit

quote:

Because he never incorporated Hanfree, Quest was personally liable for the refunds. But the money from the backers was gone, spent on engineers and contract manufacturers. The lawsuit forced him into bankruptcy. From there, things only got worse.

Just look up all the stuff on that cooler debacle. It's been in the news a lot.

They delayed and delayed, and then started letting people buy them immediately to raise funds to make the ones they owed to the kickstarter backer.
