Alex Cunningham will start for #CCU on Saturday in the opener with #LSU. Giving Andrew Beckwith an extra day after throwing Monday.

FYI did a quick scroll through their stats. Cunningham has faced a decent amount of their tougher opponents and he hasn't done very well.
Aside from 5 scoreless he threw against NCST in the regional he has the following.
NCST
4 IP
5 H
6 ER
2 Bb's
7 K's
GT
4.1 IP
6 H
7 R, 5 ER
5 BB
0 K's
Ohio St.
3.2 IP
2 H
5 ER
4 BB's
4 K's
Also gave up 4 ER in 7 IP against High Point and 3.2 IP vs. Ole Miss w/ 7 H and 2 ER. Essentially anyone they played that was a P5 or good Regional team, he did not fair very well except for his last outing against NCST. He does not go very long into games. I did not check each conference start, especially if the team was garbage. Longest he has gone is 7 and most of the time it's around 4 innings.
If we can hit him early and be patient (he walks a ton in his bad outings), it wont matter if the closer comes in to throw 3 innings.

They are obviously going to lose some, but they also win about half. The point I was trying to make is that they are used to playing big name opponents and definitely aren't afraid.

Very good pitching, however lsu has faced very good pitching all season long including that ridiculous Florida staff.

Anyone have our stats against right handed pitchers. Seems like they have almost exclusive right handed pitching.

No one is saying they are afraid.
Until regionals started they were 7-9 against P5 teams. Not great, but they at least played some good teams.
Oh and of those losses and outings mentioned in my previous post....Cunningham has a total of 1 start which led to a win against P5 or Regional type teams. This would be his 5 IP against NCST in the regional.

I got these from the SEC website and they only have it broken down in the team stats, not the individual ones. For some reason, LSU doesn't publish the split stats even though they are readily available.

I lose it everytime I see that gif

Gotcha. I knew that I'd seen the split stats before but I couldn't remember where. I checked lsusports.net but I forgot to check secsports.com

May I add that we tend to abuse good pitching it's the rag arms we are struggling with.

Also, nice signature. Griffey Jr will always be the GOAT in my opinion.

MLB to me died when Griffey Jr retired.
ETA: Will you be in town this weekend for the games?

Just remember LSU hits very good pitching extremely well. Ex. (UF & Miss St)
They hit poor pitching extremely bad. Ex. (ND, Tenn & Rice last game)
