For perspective on the point I was making above, if I'm filtering BA's 2015 database correctly, a total of 6 players in the top 10 rounds didn't sign. And only 2 of those were in rounds 5-10.
Maybe I was being more optimistic than the numbers suggest. Hopefully we can end up like the Florida and Vanderbilts of the world and get him to campus. Still can't believe Karsten Whitson didn't sign when he was drafted 9th back in 2010.

There was a different system then. Whitston would have dropped under the current pool setup. That's why Hess hasn't been picked yet. In the old days teams could pick who ever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and if they couldn't sign them they just moved to the next pick. Now they're actually hurt by not signing picks in the top 10 rounds so they're careful with who they select.

Adam4848 what are your thoughts so far on the high school guys that got drafted outside of pint?

stay kramer stay as well

At this point Kramer stays. Jared........who knows but I'm bracing for him to leave.
On a side note, 3 sec Friday night starters that were draft eligible went undrafted through day 2.
Brigham hill, Geoffrey Bramblett, and Brady Bramlett. Figured Hill showed enough.

Williams will sign. He's in an ideal situation going to the Angels.
Weathersly will probably end up signing; the Jays will be able to throw a good bonus his way. JUCO guys are always more of a risk to sign.
The rest of the class is looking to be in very good shape getting everyone on campus. All things said it was another great day for Mainieri.

What about Kramer, newman, and pooch considering they didn't get drafted in top 10 rounds?

I still got Poche heading out. Kramer and hunter should stay at this point. This team will need loads of attrition with the way things are going. Bryce Adams, Colin Strall, etc

I noticed that we only signed one LHP in this class.
Since Valek and Devall are graduating and Poche (if he stays) and Latz will likely be starters, we will only have one left handed arm in the bullpen (if the incoming freshman works out). Am I missing someone?

I've always seen Kramer as a 4 year guy. I think he'll see interested around 15-25 he's not in a huge draft risk in my opinion though, there just isn't any tool that jumps out at the MLB level.
Poche not going in rounds 1-10 did surprise me, with every passing round he'll have a tougher decision.
I think Newman will go early tomorrow he's had two very solid seasons and with the ability to throw a fastball and curve at any count a team could use him.

We'll have nick bush back from injury to come out of the pen. Haven't seen him pitch personally but has great high school numbers.

With the way this draft has gone, and the likelihood that we get the majority of this large class to campus, I feel like Nick Bush may be one to be shown the door similar to Whitty. Wasn't healthy, couldn't help, not worth a roster spot. Mainieris looking at having to dump 10ish players and pray for some transfers before spring ball rolls around. All Ive got so far is Adams, Ducote, Strall, Forshag, Bush. That leaves at least 5 more to be cut. Thats a lot.

I'm curious how the numbers will work out with what we have coming back. Still possibly getting Hess and Peterson on campus would be YUGE

Devall is graduating.

Ducote has always been a great hitter. It's a shame his injury prevented us from seeing what he could really do with the bat on a level playing field.
But that's LSU baseball. No margin for error.

CPM may have Blake Dean on speed dial. And vice-versa.
