Karr, St. Aug, OP Walker, ST Reed and GW Carver were my favorite schools to go to when I worked in the NOLA area back before Katrina.
John McDonough (not McDonough 35) was a fricking nightmare.

Were you a school liaison officer?

it should be a very solemn and sad event for those who are done. a time to think about how you failed to get to that point
Seriously SFP, this is a stupid fricking statement. You have no clue how hard some people have it in life through no fault of their own. The fact every one of them graduated is an awesome accomplishment.
Come down from your ivory tower.

you're wrong. that's exactly the meta point that i'm making
those people who have roadblocks put in their way will almost certainly come from a social group that celebrates the hell out of graduating. that same social group is almost assuredly the source of the roadblocks that you're referencing

Good for them, it looks like they had a fun night.

They rose above being a high school dropout roadblock. That is worth celebrating.
They rose above being sent to reform school because they were frickups. That is worth celebrating.
It took me a long time to realize that I shouldn't use my own level of accomplishments as a baseline for what others should achieve.

i fully admitted my bias and know that very few people were blessed with the biological gifts that i was
i don't expect people should hit my level on some things just as i realized long ago i'd never make it into many areas that others are gifted in
it's more than an individualized comparison. it's a societal-cultural issue/discussion

Looks like a good time to me

Yeah, Gary Chambers was asked to deliver the commencement but had to cancel when he realized the stage was only made out of aluminum and wouldn't support his weight.

I agree 100^ that HS graduation isn't an accomplishment to get excited about.
It's more of a starting point into world
