Any suggestions on a nice Catholic mass to attend while visiting Paris in July?

They actually have Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral. I did not attend, but I wandered around during it.

We were the first people in that morning so it was easy to
observe. There weren't a lot of people at the service surprisingly.

This was not on a Sunday (coincidentally the day we were there was the day that Charlie Hebdo occurred) so I am not sure about Mass on Sundays.

Notre Dame, Sacre-Couer, St Sulspice.

I believe there's a church that does it in English as well, St Joseph's.

There hundreds of catholic churches in Paris. There's one on like every other corner.

Thanks for the input.

I hate to hear that you were there on that day, but I am glad you made it home safely.

Notre Dame does offer a number of masses throughout the day on Sunday. We will probably end up at the 8:30 AM mass if it is not too crowded.

We frankly had no idea what happened until the late afternoon when flags started flying at half-mast.

We did think it was odd that all the embassies were closed, and we saw police carrying around automatic weapons throughout the day.

But it seemed, as it would in any major city, that life went on that day. The Louis Vuitton store was certainly open for my wife!

I just got back. We went to a beautiful Sunday mass at La Madeline because it was near our hotel. St. Sulpice has some of the best organ music in in Paris. We were there for Easter Sunday a few years ago. We like to attend the vigil mass at Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon. Mass starts at 6:30 but they start singing vespers at 5:45.

I went to Notre Dame and Sacre-Couer when I was in Paris. Natives recommend Sacre-Couer more often. I loved Notre Dame though and had an interesting conversation with one of the priests while I was there.

I'm glad your wife got some good shopping in despite the circumstances

I've never been to this church. I will be sure to check it out this trip to Paris. Easter Sunday in Paris must have been remarkable. The singing vespers seem like a beautiful site to see. Thanks for the response.
