With the line running down through the eye off the hook on the snell knot, it allows the hook to move "straight" when set rather than at any angle.

Palomar knot is easy and can be used for everything.

I was just looking for a knot that wont snap my line on hooksets. That may not even be the issue. I always wet my line when i cinch it down, but i still get breaks every now and then with 20lb mono or lighter. I use 30 now with no problem, but that is some thick mono that im not really crazy about. And no, I hate braid for flipping. I use clear/blue/flourecent Stren because I like to watch my line for subtle bites. Just wish I could downsize a bit.
