11 Reasons Steph Curry Wouldn’t Have Lasted in the ’90s NBA

The Warriors got their asses kicked by the Thunder last night. It was a murder scene. A beatdown. The type of game that the Warriors were accustomed to being on the receiving end of before Steph Curry turned into a glitch in the NBA matrix. But despite the fact that the Dubs trail in the series 2-1 (the last time that happened, they ended up coming back to beat the Cavs for the NBA title), it goes without saying that Steph is still the NBA's current reigning "Best Player Alive." Despite that, all season there's been talk that Steph, and by extension the Warriors, would have struggled in the NBA of the '90s. One reason for that is that the game is less physical these days.

Is Steph a better player than his father is the next asinine question to be seen on the MSB...

Why is it so hard for people to just enjoy greatest? Curry is great just let him be great.

I feel like this is the stupidest sports debate of all time.
If the Warriors play in the 90s against the 96 Bulls, they're losing bad. If the 96 Bulls play in today's league, 6 players foul out and the tempo of today's game throws them off. Comparing players/teams from different eras in terms of "what would they do if they played in this time period" is beyond stupid and pointless. Teams are assembled to win in the here and now. Players always find an edge in any era. Of course the Warriors aren't as physical as great teams in the 90s, but they don't have to be to have success today. Not being assembled like teams 20+ years ago doesn't invalidate greatness. It's the ultimate "Get off my lawn" take.

Very few players would be capable of transcending eras and be just as dominate as they were in their era.
The game evolves and changes, many great players in their day were great because they were perfectly adapted for that era. Nothing wrong with that.
With that said, how many people actually clicked the link and realized this was a tongue in cheek article and not what the OP framed it as??

FIFY
Don't equate the late 90's to physical...Jordan could walk to the rim as if it were a dunk contest.
Jordan got manhandled in the 80's - from Celtics to Pistons. And Jordan won his first two titles the hard way. But then things changed.
