Are you kidding me.....deal in bullets? smh.

I shoot from 50 yards with a Glock during qualifications and have no problem.

This will be a slight hijack.

I just got my first Glock on Friday. Gen4 G17. Pretty fired up as this will be the nicest pistol I have in the safe. Will be looking for a holster and maybe some new sights. Any rec's would be appreciated.

Ive been carrying a Glock 43 for a little over a month.....love it.

I'm a Glock fanboy, but I hate the 43. That trigger is horrible.

That was a pretty good one, but I think Obama says they can be husband and husband now.

I am curious as to what your qualms are about all striker fired pistols. Is it just nostalgia, or do you not trust them?

I own several but Im just not a polymer fan.
Its a bandwagon that the manafacturers jumped on to increase profits, production and sales. Now we pay as much for plastic as we did for steel. On a business standpoint it makes since, cheaper, easier & faster.
The agency I work for jumped on that band wagon from our Colts to Sigs to Glock 40s. A lot of us tried to tell them not to but here we are going back to 9mm. I still have my Colt after 24 years still as good as new. Our armory is full of worn out Glock 40s that most never mastered and studies show they couldnt shoot. Now everyone wants a 9 again. My advice is get something and learn to shoot it well. Most wont and claim they are the only person that knows what their doing.
Several years later its the same thing but with another new toy.

With lots of polymer pistols withstanding 10-20k rounds, I don't think there is a question if they can hold up or not

I think its too soon to tell.
Ive seen Berettas in Service 25 yrs with 300,000 still going with rebuilds.
Colts past 130k with rebuilds,
S&W 686 past 300k still going with basic tune ups.
We have glocks at 60,000 going through multiple rebuilds that are getting rough.
A friends Agency uses H&k USP its at 200 easy. So yes they can make it. i dont think anyone will be passing one down to the grandkids though.

Since Walther was bought by S&W

S&W never "bought" Walther. They were just the importer for Walther until a few years ago when Walther opened their Fort Smith, Arkansas operation.

FWIW, the PPQ is NOT an updated version of the P99. The P99 is a DA/SA firearm with a decocker. The P99AS has a smoother SA trigger than the PPQ-which everyone raves about. Go figure.

As the duty pistol for law enforcement agencies in North America, Europe and Asia, the P99 has endured the harshest operating conditions a handgun will ever see. What’s more, its ergonomics and engineering have evolved subtly in response to feedback from agencies over the years. The P99 is truly a world class handgun for professionals who must trust their lives to a firearm.

quote:

All 9mm P99s have always been completely German-made. Some P99 .40 components are manufactured under license by S&W. The barrel, slide and frame of all 100% German-manufactured P99s bear an "Eagle over N" proof mark of the German Proof House at Ulm.

correct. the p99 is very unique.

the design/ergos of the ppq is an evolution of the p99, but the gun functions very differently. the ppq is more similar to a glock and m&p than it is to a p99.

most comparisons I've seen online favor the ppq over the p99, but either way you are getting a great firearm
