There's lotsssssss of people out there toting a .300 win mag with a night force scope who can barely hit a dart board at 300 off of a shooting bench and think they're capable at 500 out of a tripod in the middle of a cutover.
I consider myself pretty good at killing stuff, and beyond 300 yards isn't anything I'd try with my .30-06 unless I had time and a VERY good prop.
Much less, a .30-505 at a mile off a backpack and with 50% throat erosion every time I touched the trigger

If you need to shoot past 300 yards you are a bad hunter.
I'd rather a .243 than a .300 for speed goats. If you want a new gun that's great, but talking about large caliber a like that for goats is trolling.
