Check your account. The invoice for season ticket holders has been post on their account; includes new 5% sales tax

Isn't that part of the new taxes that were passed this year by the legislature?

Is that what we get for winning the Texas Bowl? I wonder how much it will be when we win a respectable bowl game.

No, it's the government taking more of your money. Has nothing to do with wins and losses.

I remember when I started at LSU and my uncle asked if I had to pay for Student tickets and of course I do. He was stunned, back in the day they just stamped your LSUID and let you in. Those must have been the good ole days

you need to thank the state legislature and governor. It will be this way for all athletic events across this state.

Those who do not want to pay TAF fees, but also want your tickets, will tell you that you deserve this.

Someone has to pay the potential buyouts on all of the terrible contracts Alleva has signed off on.

Oh. Well in that case then 5% isn't so bad.

This thread is just a bucket full of dumb. These are not "new" taxes. Anyone with season tickets has enjoyed an exemption from having to pay sales tax on their purchases.
Your exemption got rolled back for two years, and just like every other purchaser/consumer, you have to now pay your tax.

I don't think they were taxed. This is new. But now that the tax is here, I'm sure it won't go away after the state budget mess is fixed.

The roll back of the exemption was passed with a 2 year sunset period. Thanks for not knowing anything about what you're talking about.

Ok makes sense. Because it seemed like people were saying he raised taxes by 5% when we know it was only 1%. Didn't know they were exempt in prior years from any state sales tax.
