Era = 6.16
FIP = 4.22
He gave up 41 earned runs last year and has already given up 21 this year.
I know it's a small sample size but he doesn't look anything like he did the past 3 seasons, has he just packed it in now that he is on his last contract?

1) Last year, he was in a contract year
2) He was pretty lucky last year (statistically speaking)
3) Arizona's park is tougher
That's all I got.
eta: In general, top pitchers seem to vary year-to-year much more so than top hitters.

Signed a huge deal in the offseason.

That definitely seems anti-Greinke. There is no doubt that he took the most money (he admitted that), especially when you consider the differences in taxation rates between AZ and CA.
High BABIP, high HR/FB rate, and his velocity seems to be down around a tick. I only have seen him sparingly in starts so far, but I would want to see more. I really thought that he would still be a stud this year (sub 3.00 ERA).

Look at Fister with the Astros. A few years back in Detroit he was a much better pitcher. He's throwing 87-88 versus 91-92 a couple years ago.

He has struggled keeping the ball down
When he misses, he misses up in the zone and gets hammered

Fister was garbage before he got to the Astros. When you don't strike anyone out, you're going to get hit

2 great starts on the road, 2 bad at home, 1 meh at home.
He gave up like 2 ER in 41 IP @ in chase field during his tenure with LAD
Safe money is he adjusts. He had a few hiccups in KC and MIL figuring things out. I think he thinks too much sometimes

Went from one of the best catchers at framing pitches to one of the worse. Also the ballpark makes a big difference.
LINK. Scroll down to the joe peta section. Heard him mention all of this on a podcast before the season started.

Shelby Miller 0-2 8.69 ERA 7.70 FIP
Not a good offseason through 1 month for the DBacks, plenty of time left though.
