Some of the comments were obviously deplorable, but damn as a female sportswriter, you would think they would have developed a thicker skin, instead of reading mean internet comments about themselves. The whole thing felt like a movie with the way the emotion was hammed up.

The internet is the internet, and you have to realize people don't really mean a lot of the shite they say. They would never say it in real life or actually even mean it. It's just the level you have to go to for shock value with online anonymity. But, telling someone who has apparently been raped that they should get raped again probably isn't going to be the easiest thing for a woman to hear.

I don't think venom being spewed on twitter to sports reporters is something that's strictly exclusive to women in the industry.
