Would 4 days be too short for a Hawaii trip?

Would fly out on a Thursday (arriving Noon Hawaii time), and leave on Monday night (red-eye).

We did 4 on our honeymoon. I would do it if I had the chance again but I think min 7 days if you want to hop to one of the other islands on some of the days. We took one entire day and just drove around the island and made stops along the way.

The time difference will get to you. We left BHM very early in the morning. Stopover on Houston, then 8.5 hours in the air to Honolulu. We were completely exhausted and waiting for some place at the resort to open for dinner at 5PM local time. We ate then went to sleep before sunset. Our bodies were telling us it was near midnight and we'd been awake for 21 hours. Woke up at 2-3 AM the first couple of days. Starving and waiting until 5 AM to get breakfast. But it was neat watching the sunrise every day. About day 4 is when we got used to the time. We stayed 6 nights.
Where are you leaving from? It was a 5 or 6 hour time difference for us. If you're out wear it might not be as big of a difference.

4 days is fine. Go sit on a beach with a sugary alcohol drink and enjoy life
The worst part about shirt trips is the cost of flying is emphasized. Longer trips stretch out the value of the upfront flights.

MSY.
I actually forgot that Delta added the 7pm MSY-LAX departure. Will probably take that on Wednesday night, then leave on one of the 8am flights from LAX to Hawaii. That way we land in Hawaii on Thursday around noon.

I'd do that, I can fight through jet lag pretty good.
Worst case, you're sleepy or out of phase in paradise.
Good luck.

Jet lag is west to east, not east to west.

I'd save my money until I could spend more time there unless I lived on the west coast.

Cost isn't the issue.

"Jet Lag, medically referred to as desynchronosis and rarely as circadian dysrhythmia, is a physiological condition which results from alterations to the body's circadian rhythms resulting from rapid long-distance trans-meridian (east–west or west–east) travel on high-speed aircraft. For example, someone travelling from New York to California feels as if the time were three hours later than local time. Jet lag was previously classified as one of the circadian rhythm sleep disorders."*
Wikipedia specifically and medical science in general disagrees with your premise that jet lag is only derived from travel in one direction.

Sorry, didn't realize you were an OT baller.

We are.
Time is generally the problem for us, not money.

So you are now admitting that you did say jet lag.
Make up your mind.

I have a seven day minimum for Hawaii. I find nine days is perfect. I'm too old for that 4 day shite.

I did say "jet lag" (big deal) but I wasn't going to get bogged down in a discussion of the definition of jet lag here.
You and I were both wrong. Your error is factual as to the clinical meaning of the term "jet lag", mine was that I didn't remember using a term in a post to avoid a semantical discussion.
I'd rather forget that I used a term in a post than be publicly ignorant to a medical fact as you have displayed.

So jet lag is a medical condition. Is it covered by Obamacare?

Which I was alluding to in my original post.
Thanks for the confirmation.
