That's probably (is) why I bought it.

I realize that now. I didn't know RR had a special edition and I didn't realize the Maz would be as "cheap" as what it is. Since there cars run around 250k, I expected the Maz SUV and G Wagon to be the most expensive.
I still wouldn't spend 6 figures on a RR, or any SUV for that matter.

There are lots of new Maseratis for well under $100k. The highest priced one on Autotrader in the entire country is $210k, and there's only that one above $200k.

I'm in the market as well. Not $150k. OT baller application rejected.
Wife needs a new ride. She wants the Lexus GX strictly based on looks. Not reading too many positive reviews though. Going to test drive this weekend. Any other recommendations in that $50-70k range?

Trust me, I hope the one that wins out is under that.
how is one going to win out if you are not going test drive it? this whole thing is weird with you.
There are a lot of options and don't feel like spending multiple weekends test driving SUV's. That's why I'm asking for input from the knowledgeable here about their experiences with these types of SUV's so I can focus on 3 or 4 of them and try to knock it out in one weekend. Right now I'm leaning Range Rover, Cayenne, F Pace, and really curious about Maserati Levante.

Yeah, they would see me coming a mile away.

I believe it.

they weren't as nice to drive as the 97 Explorer I used to have and in some ways actually felt worse.
Credibility gone
Sorry but the Lincolns just didn't feel all that great once I settled in on the road. They didn't respond the way I thought they would and there were several interior choices I didn't care for. The MKX especially felt like it had a fat arse and was a bit of a chore to drive. Maybe they had the under-powered crappy ones to test but I was just not that impressed.
It was disappointing b/c I owned my Explorer for a little over 10 years and absolutely loved it to the point Lincoln was at the top of my list when I initially set out to get a new vehicle. It's not to say they were anywhere near the worst of the ones I tried out because they weren't. They've come a long way from the trash that pushed me away from Ford in the mid 2000s. But if I get another SUV from them I want a spruced up version of the mid 90s Explorers w/the same interior layout.

We will never own another Lincoln, car, SUV, or truck.

Is the LR4 a pretty solid choice then?
We have had very good luck with a 2012 model that my wife drives...good enough that I traded my E63 on a RR Sport HSE last May when I felt like I needed an SUV, and one year in, nothing to make me regret that choice. I looked at Lexus, new Volvo XC90, Yukon Denali, M63 AMG and G Wagon.
Neither Land Rover group car has had service issues. I hear disparaging remarks on this forum all the time, not sure if that is ownership experience or second hand. Probably my second choice would be a Land Cruiser or LX570 (or whatever the Lexus branded LC is now), but our Lexus ownership experience was kind of meh..solid car, no problems, very nice but oh so sterile - and I don't care for the dealer here. Have had great experience with MB and Land Rover, the quality of the dealership (especially service) is also a huge factor for me.

A lot of Range Rover haters in here. People that bash rovers are out of their mind. They are the most capable off road vehicle off the showroom and it's not even close. The off-road system is unbelievable.
We have a supercharged Range Rover that is an absolute rocket ship. 510 horsepower getting down to all 4 tires, and as previously said it's fantastic off-road. I've had it in some really nasty shite with its OEM tires.

Must not be able to buy any of those in the US. Or there are none for sale. Regardless, most are under $150k.

I referenced you earlier as to RR getting better.
I wanna see that property before I believe though.

It has been absolutely phenomenal, that's all the wife will drive from here on out.

Mine feels the same about Jaguar.
