I was just wondering, didn't know if NBA Gms would be intrigued by a 6'6" point guard with 7'0" wing span and the biggest hands ever recorded at a draft... was thinking maybe a bigger rondo type

i added AFA in there for your viewing pleasure.
and to make it better, those are their pre-NBA stats.
guess which is AFA, Sefolosha, or Luwawu
You have a point but he has the tools and the skill to become a versatile player. He just needs to be developed like any rookie.

David Aldridge with some anonymous front office takes on Luwawu

Luwawu making strides
The top international prospect, 20-year-old Timothe' Luwawu, is yet another French export who should continue that country's recent history of sending impact players to the NBA. After playing for Antibes as a teenager, he's spent the last year playing for Mega Leks, in Serbia's Adriatic League.
He averages just under 15 points in 31 minutes of play per game, but Luwawu's calling card is going to be defense and spot-up shooting.
A very good athlete. He can really guard. And he's a greatly improved shooter.
– Anonymous Northwest Division scout, on Timothe Luwawu
"He's going to have to make it as a 3-and-D guy," a Central Division man says. "That league isn't very athletic. So he looks more athletic maybe than he would in the NBA ... he's taken a good step forward this year. He's a bit inconsistent. High turnover player. But he has the potential to do more offensively."
Luwawu was briefly in last year's Draft before pulling out, and the year playing at a higher level helped him improve his status for this year.
"A very good athlete," a Northwest Division man said. "He can really guard. And he's a greatly improved shooter. When he was younger, the hole in his game was, is he going to shoot it well enough? And he has. It's not the greatest competition in the world, but it's not the worst. Good size. Legit 6-7 with length, and guards, and makes enough shots. And he's young. He's going to get selected in that 15-22 range."
One general manager echoed the thoughts of many, who say Luwawu puts them in mind of Thabo Sefolosha, taken 13th overall in the 2006 Draft by Philadelphia before being dealt to the Bulls.
"He's a better shooter than Sefolosha was, but he's kind of gangly, the same way," the GM said. "He has abilities to defend. I think he's better offensively. His shot is better. But Sefolosha is bigger, probably an inch, inch and a half. And Sefolosha just had this way about him. He could do one thing well and he was kind of like, 'let me just defend, and I'll figure out the rest as I go along.'"
Consistency at both ends will be the main question for Luwawu.
Said an Eastern Conference exec: "I'm not a huge fan but I can see where some would be, because he's so athletic. He has no feel for how to play at either end. I could see a team that's not excited about any of those guys taking him late."

No feel for the game? That's the first I've heard of that. Can anyone can confirm this?

Its hard to take what GM's say seriously. They always try to down play a player to draft them where they have a pick.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks this. Do not want.

Sefolosha or Wesley Matthews
I'd honestly take Wesley Matthews if he's offered at 6.

That's every rookie

Every rookie takes time to develope but you don't want a guy who is almost useless for 2-3 years when you are trying to make the playoffs. Atleast guys like brown, Dunn, and Murray can bring something to the team before they start putting it together.
Posted on 4/4/16 at 6:42 pm to bugafor6
If you think Dunn or Murray are NBA ready the you are fooling yourself.
Posted on 4/4/16 at 6:58 pm to 504ByrdGang
Dunn can defend, Murray can shoot. That's 2 traits that the team can use right now and can make them immediate contributors. Luawawu will get very few minutes early on

Luwawu would not get close to 20 minutes over qpon and Cunningham.
Hield would easily get 20 since his best competition for sg is Tyreke (who will play point and sf) and bdj.

He can defend 3 positions a shoot 3s I doubt that.

We are not getting Hield so stop

I know, some team is going to get a Wesley Matthews while we get a Thabo Sefolosha, sad.

If you think Hield is a Mathews level defender you are crazy.
Posted on 4/4/16 at 10:38 pm to 504ByrdGang
No, but his offensive production will be at least Matthews-level which is something we need and is more realistic than Luwawu = Batum or Kawhi.
All while realistically, he is a Thabo Sefolosha.

Luwawu also plays in the LNB France league, which has a smaller court and shortened 3 point line... so we really don't know how well he can shoot the NBA three and it is also easier to get steals on smaller courts.

He played in the Adriatic League this past season, but they play on a FIBA court. FIBA 3 and NCAA 3 are a fair comparison.
