He has the potential to be a Batum like pool player or he can be a Sefolosha. Just like Hield has potential to be like Mathews or he can be a spark off the bench scorer. To say he can't reach that potential is crazy because no one knows. He has shown just like Hield a hard work ethic to improve his game.

You really should read back on some of the discussion. One poster whose identity is obvious has repeatedly claimed that the Adriatic League is far better competition than NCAA, but gets picked apart pretty summarily from several different angles.

To me, Luwawu looks a hell of a lot like Gerald Green. Now Green is a true freak athlete, and his head isn't always in the right place. But that's more the comparison I would make. And that's not a bad player if his head is right. Obviously he has some work to do to match the scoring of Green.

This board doesn't hate Luwawu as much as it seems. 504ByrdGang has a strongly positive opinion of him and a strongly negative opinion of a board favorite and that's created something that's as much pissing match as it is debate and analysis.

The only issue is, his floor is so low and his ceiling is really high. We've seen a lot of these type of players and they always land somewhere in the middle of that gap.

Gerald Green/Thabo Sefolosha are realistic comparisons, but would you like that at 6? His ceiling is a Nic Batum, but he's got a long way to get there.

We're not picking at 6, Hield will go top 5, and if we did pick at 6 our choices are Dunn, Brown, Poelt, and Luwawu. If you pick Dunn it means we are done with Jrue and Brown is a bigger project than Luwawu.

I honestly think the board reaction to him only seems worse because everyone keeps having to point out how unbalanced that dude's assessments are. At one point, the guy made arguments whose aggregate was that Luwawu was destined to win multiple league MVP awards. Dude loves Luwawu more than ShamelessPel loved Austin Rivers.

You do not know that.

Hield will go top 5

Probably, but Drummond and Noel were both going top 3, so this is far from a certainty.

Our chances may be......

Brown is a bigger project than Luwawu.

True, but he also has a higher ceiling.

Not unless he shows something in the combine/private workouts to run up the draft boards. I see drafting Luwawu as a trade back move. The board seems pretty iffy about Dunn/Brown and there's a good chance that's who we're looking at even if we stay at 6.

Very true

Noel was injured and people questioned Drummond's drive. Yield doesn't have those problems.

There is also the option of trading back. Toronto currently has 9/26, Phoenix 12/28, Denver may have 15/17. Boston has 16/24, but that's not enough value for me, they'd have to do a player trade too, maybe Bradley for Tyreke or someone else for Ajinca. If we can't draft a guy we love then lets roll the dice on quantity, multiple wing players and/or a big to replace Asik once we can dump him.

where are we picking then? Realistically, 6 is where we're slotted for.

I think 8-10 we have a easy schedule from some pathetic teams.

Or he can be Julian Wright. I just don't think you are willing to recognize that he has a much lower floor than Hield.
