The hypocrisy on this board is amazing...

1) Many of the same people have gone from praising the coach's "Lesticles", to wanting to run him out on a rail, in the span of a single game. A game where an injury-riddled team that had been through a meatgrinder schedule was confronting an RB that should be an NFL #1 and a coach backed into a corner.
2) Many of you are complaining and hating on Miles because of what has been happening with the coaching search and the distractions for the team. Of course, he wants the team to be distracted. He wants to go out losing his last two games at LSU. And, of course, he's the one who's been leaking the information about the hire this morning.
3) Many are also complaining that he has not been "up front" or "lying" about this whole process. What the hell is the man supposed to do? I suppose in your job, you can walk into your boss' office and say, "just to let you know, your competitor is trying to hire me. Can I have off this afternoon for an interview? I promise it won't interfere with my work here..."
4) Then, there's the group that is wanting Saban back. Many of these are the same that are pissed at Miles for "lying" or prevaricating about leaving. Now, I am not one of those that got his boxers in a bunch because he left to go to Miami (I always expected him to go to the NFL) or because he went to Bama (it was the only high profile gig in CFB and he wanted out of the NFL), but I don't see who you can even compare what Saban did to what Miles MAY be doing.
5) LSU fans need to get back to where they were before the Arkansas game...appreciating Miles for being a good caretaker for the program and understanding that he would be leaving to go back to his home...where he got his degree, where he played, where he coached, where he met his wife.
We are in a position to get our "pick" of a head coach because of where Saban brought this program and where Miles kept it. We should wish he (and Bo) well in their new endeavours and move on with our lives!

what if we:
1. never bought into the "lesticles" myth
2. have been mad at miles for how he handled this situation, but understand
3. wasn't mad at saban b/c i understand. and i understand. i think miles should have done what sabes did.
but he's too scared
4. would like saban back
5. i thought we were going to lose the arky game around the time we played UF

Well said, udtiger. I was beginning to wonder if this was now a gay board with all these dickheads getting off on each other. Glad someone has some sense.

Why anyone would stick up for miles is crazy to me. he negotiated a new job before our regular season was over and to add insult to injury he even went as far to start hiring his staff. now the idiots in our admin are trying to pull him into a corner and work a new deal while our team is in preperation for the seccg. they all have lost any respect that i had for them.

really is it hypocrisy on the board that thousands of unique individuals have varing opinions about Les Miles, Nick Saban and LSU football or stupidity of 1 poster that thinks all LSU fans should have the same opinion?

So 2005 people, let me get this right...in the shadow of the greatest national disaster in the history of this nation, one that had tremendous impact on the players, Miles is able to lead this team to an impressive 11-2 finish which included a pretty sweet trouncing of Miami.
This is the year you wanted him gone?
No wonder everyone says UM is such a great job and LSU is a meat-grinder.

we did lose to tennessee team, at home, who finished with like 5 or 6 wins

I know you don't like to hear about the extraordinary circumstances around LSU in late August and Sept of 2005, all with a new coach, but that loss was no worse than the 2002 Arky loss.

I want to add, I have NEVER been enamoured with the Miles hire. I thought he was brought in because Skip was looking for another "Saban" he could get on the cheap (an HC with some NFL experience that coaches the "stepchild" state school that had occasionally bested the "big brother"). I've found many of his decisions suspect, his teams lacking discipline, and expected him to leave if the Michigan job came open. I, along with others, was very disappointed to be out of the NC race, but I don't lay all of that at his feet.
BUT, he's also recruited well, represented the school well, and oversaw the greatest three year stretch (admittedly, w/o an NC) in LSU history (including the absolute thrashing of two storied programs in the bowl games). The cupboard is full for whoever replaces him.

Agree. Pretty sad isn't it?

After a 2 day postponement for the worst day in the history of Louisiana, and a potential second storm approaching.
Great point.
