You're going to pay:
DMV - Trailer taxes - need bill of sale with trailer value
Dept. of Revenue - Boat and Motor State taxes - need bill of sale with boat and motor value
Parish Tax Office - Boat and Motor Parish taxes - need bill of sale with boat and motor value
You can put the boat in the water technically once you've applied for registration. Keep the yellow paper in your boat at all times and be able to produce it if you are stopped on the water.

Did they change it? It use to be if you bought from a dealer you needed to pay sales tax on it all but if you bought out of state from a individual all you had to pay sales tax on was the trailer.
