how will you remember the les miles era?

i think i will remember all the close games (whether some of them should have been so close is another story - but seems like he had his fair share of tight finishes here)

I will think about how I did not like the way LSU played all year, BUT I will also remember how exciting this year was..

3 years of 12-2 and 1 SEC chmpionship, and in the huntfor the National Championship right up until the end every year. I think that would have to be looked at by anybody as being successful. That is how I will remember him as an Alabama fan. I say he hs done a fine job, has been a class act, represented LSU with class, and went home to take over at his alma mater. What more could you ask for from anyone. Just my opinion.

2 years of having the most talented team in the country and no BCS titles to show for it.

Katrina.

Tennessee. Georgia.

Auburn. Florida.

Two losses in triple overtime.
(I don't think anyone will forget those two games.)

It's the sign of a pretty damn good program when you can almost count on one hand all of the losses for three years.

Keep your arse at LSU and win a NC. Say no to Michigan.

Same as last year at this time, except last year I was wondering who we will get and this year I am wondering if he will stay. I wish we would sign Sylvester Croom to about a ten year deal and just leave him alone. I am sick of this shite.

I'll remember it was a great run for LSU football. I'll remember...

Russell, Dorsey, Landry, Steltz, Bowe, Doucet, Davis, Hester, Flynn, Highsmith, Beckwith, Chad Jones, TT, RP (maybe), Kieland, Trindon, Scott, Dickson, Nevis...etc, etc...

40-3 over Miami
41-14 over Notre Dame
Florida, Auburn and Bama in the same year (twice)
42-17 over Tennessee to win the SECCG (hopefully)

heartstopping wins, headscratching calls, elation, frustration...

I'll remember it as being bittersweet.

Bitter=What could have been (at best, only 1 SEC title)

Sweet=Strong recruiting classes to maintain the talent level he inherited, leaving his successor in a position to succeed.

All in all, Les will be seen as a caretaker who maintained the status quo---a very high-level status-quo, at that.

I probably will remember the players more than the coach.

And I'll remember having 4 guys drafted in the first round.

Being a lifer...if Coach Miles leaves (and I hope he does not) these last three years will defiantly stay with me as long as I will be able to remember!!!
Heck when you still relish bad years ( and we had enough of them) that had good wins you cannot help but step back and really appreciate how well this team has done in the last three years....
Yes, yes I will remember him...

Heck I think once this all plays out we will all remember......

Me too!

I actually think that Croom would do great at Bama. He knows the program and he is a solid figure that just fits the Bama mold. If people truly knew and understood the mess he inherited at Mississippi State they would appreciate all that he has done there.

Despite the team consistently playing inconsistent, we had a chance in every game but UGA in 05(maybe UF 06). Miles' teams since he got here have had an uncanny ability to come up clutch at the end of the games. The cynics may say it was because of him, but for his teams to repeatedly come up big the last few years is something special.

That being said, it has been a great concern of mine the way we cannot put teams away, or play down to our competition. This has been a glaring problem since he got here. I bit my tongue about it out and wasnt even really upset after the Kentucky loss. We still could control our own destiny. However, you have to correct the problems and that has never been done

I felt that the Arkansas game was inexcusable with what was on the line. It hard for me to think that the UM bullshite didnt affect this team terribly, but they should have won that game.Now...after witnessing the backlash since the Arky game, I think it would be best to part ways with him. He will NEVER win over a section of our fanbase...I know this all too well. Especially if he loses tomorrow. Could you imagine the shite if he would come back after losing 3 or 4 games this season? I cannot even fathom.

I do wish him well and have a fondness for the man. He is a likable cat, and I will be rooting for UM from now on. But before you part with us Les, bring us home a title so you can shake some of the haters off.

I will never forget the feeling of the Florida game, or forget how no one wanted to leave the stadium, just so the moment could last. I'll never forget how hard Jacob Hester fought to get that game winning touchdown.

I'll remember the heartpounding games, the feeling like nothing could possibly go wrong that weekend when we won a game.

But I'll also never forgot how bad I felt after the Kentucky and Arkansas games, and how I'll always wonder what we could have done different.

I'll forget the scores, but I won't forget the feelings. Despite it all, this season has been so amazing.

On another note, I wonder if the Arkansas game will haunt the players forever. I read that book by John Ed Bradley, and no one could get over the USC game, even 20 years later. If we don't get to the National Championship, everyone is always going to wonder what could have been.

I won't blame just Miles for losing to Ark. There's enough blame to go around.
