So, DirecTv decided to increase some fees recently simply because they wanted to.

Currently have the DVR in the living room as well as an apple tv box, and a Genie in each room. 3 bedrooms have an Xbox, the master does not.

90% of tv shows I watch are recorded.

The only live tv I watch are sporting events and news. When it comes to sporting events, it seems like LSU games are the only things I really watch. Most other sports are on, but I'm in and out.

Sell me on keeping DTV; or sell me on dropping it all and going apple tv only (I'd buy another box for the master).

Yeah my contract is up so I am about to pay way more. Thinking about just going with a cable/Internet bundle as I currently have dtv and xfinity Internet.

Not familiar with the HD antenna.

Does this give you access to local channels?

I know I can steam my news live....just curious as to what the HD antenna offers.

What I hate about Dtv is the bill is never the same. It seems like they just arbitrarily decide what to charge for taxes and fees on a monthly basis.

I ditched direct tv a month or 2 ago. My bill was $107 each month. When I called to cancel they got it down to $37/month just for me to stay. Told them if they would have done that to begin with instead of overcharging, I probably wouldn't leave.

Antenna, hulu, netflix, slingtv for the win. And prime but I don't use it much.

Yes. You will get local HD channels. There is a website you can visit to see what channels you can pick up in your area. The site escapes me now.

If you live in BR and maintain internet through cox, just run a cable directly from your TV and you will get local channels and more.

i'm dumping DTV.
I'm just now out of contract. Have about the same devices as you. I'm going with 4 of these. Already have one and it's pretty much all i use in the living room now.

I have only streamed programs for probably the past 4 years. I got tired of the antics of directTV like you did.

I can tell you this, I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER go back to a regular subscription. EVER. Try going a few years without ever seeing a commercial and then try to watch regular TV. It's truly unbearable.

It's like a fighter. If you get hit every day, it's not really a big deal. If you don't fight and get hit it's a big deal.

Streaming for me has been a much better experience. Our TV watching is much more deliberate. It's not just "on" all the time.
