Seems hard to believe with the way it is going off shelves now vs before.... I mean the demand is higher so they are moving more. Are the hops that much more? The brewing process wouldn't cause a higher cost would it?

You're asking the wrong person those questions. 
But yes, it seems the hops are to blame. Seems switching to a 4-pack could alleviate that.
