Stuck on Skeeter SX-220 vs SX-2250

I am deciding on a boat to get in the next month or so and am currently stuck between the Skeeter SX-220 and the 2250....
I like the 220 better from its layout (no middle level step up, better back layout, no oddly deep sides), but it is 600 pounds lighter than the 2250.
I live in outside new orleans and will be fishing inshore/close to shore, and want to be able to run through Lake P, water bodies outside the MRGO, and other places that often require some runs across open waters. I have no desire to go out to rigs/real offshore or anything like that.
With all that said... is the 600 pound difference between these two boats going to save me on rougher days or is the SX-220 sufficient for my purposes? Any owners that can describe the difference?
Thanks for the help.

I have a zx22.
Not sure how the new SX models handle but more weight generally equals smoother ride in rough water.
Oh and get a 24 ft, not having the extra 2 foot will piss you off everytime you use the boat

I remember seeing this at the boat show, it did have that little step up. the smaller boats livewell in the rear that's kind of oval and comes close to the leaning post. it makes it harder to walk around in the back and takes up unnecessary room.
the 2250 has deeper sides, but we never had problem in open water in the 220.
get a 24
