Why do you need a big name? I'd rather have a good coach who is hungry to win, not some has been who hasn't won anything in five years.

I saw what he did a Central Michigan, bringing them from perinial 1 or 2 wins per season to a bowl game, getting an Offensive Linemen drafted on the first day, Lefevour go nuts last year and Ben Mauk take a huge step forward this year.

But your right, I'm an idiot. Let's get John Gruden who has never coached a college game in his life or Spurrier because he's a big name who likes playing golf.

We can do better than that, Belichek or Dungy can't wait to come to Baton Rouge.

Brian Kelly is where Steve Spurrier was 17 years ago.
In another 17 years people will say, " I can't believe we passed on Brian Kelly."

The man has shown he can win at a BCS school which is more than Urban Meyer had going for him when Fla hired him.

Smart investing is buy low- sell high, not buy high and hope to break even.

This guy could be our coach for the next 10-15 years, not so with Saban or Spurrier.

We need to make to bold move and hire Brian Kelly!!

Agree completely. People need more foresight. The only thing that concerns me is whether or not he has any NFL asperations. Even if that is the case, that would mean he was succesful here and won a National Championship.

People who say we "need to hire someone people have heard of" are the biggest tool sheds in the world.

What you mean is, "we need to hire someone I've heard of." The internet brings out the mouth-breather fantasy football mentality that is mind boggling.

Brian Kelly is a damn good coach and has just as impressive a resume, if not more impressive, than Urban Meyer did pre-Florida.

He also coached at a 1AA school before Central Michigan and was a winner there. The guy has proven he can coach.I wish LSU would at least interview him if he is interested.

Hardly anyone knew who Nick Saban was. I think he did ok.

Hardly anyone knew much about Miles. I think he did ok.

He was at Grand Valley State where he was 118-35-2 and won the 2002 & 2003 1AA National Championship and also won 2 Division II Coach of the Year awards.

Central Michigan went from 4-7 in '04 to 9-4 in '06. Lefevour blew up under him.
