all the speculation, tracking planes, inside sources, real estate sources, horse farms, car rentals, "Its A Done Deal", and Billy Donanavan.

This is funny as hell...it is the same everywhere.

I bet you the farm that the names floating on here probably will not get hired...Ol' Skipper using a "head hunting" firm with the behind the scenes discussions for the "surprised candidate".

I will say this...LSU does not need a $3 million dollar coach...hell, all it needs is a Les Miles type that makes better decisions on the field during game time...Brian Kelly...he is hungry...the guy can flat out coach.

Oh well, proceed with all the "Done Deal" discussion with the inside sources...one thing I learned from the Billy Donanvan situation...everyone is full of bullshite on the internet...the only ones know is the head hunting firm, Skip and some in athletics, and the possible candidate...other than that...no one knows shite...no one inside the process is talking...if they do...heads will roll.

That's all!

I agree. I remember tracking planes back when we did the coaching search.

this could quite possibly be the best post on here today. i agree that nobody has any idea what is really going on and the coach will probably be somebody like peterson or kelly

Didn't they track Bo Rein's plane?

I don't think it will be SOS, Saban, or DelRio

Times have changed since Saban left LSU.

Athletic Departments use firms to go behind the scenes to discuss with agents the possibility of coaches interest...if so, then AD will fly in a secret location...do a Q and A.

You will NEVER see the potential new hire until the last minute...Hell Billy Clyde did not make it to Lexington until 6 hours of his official announcement.

Keep in mind...some on here with their source are being played like fools...It was known that UKAA purposely floated "certain" rumors to keep some of the tracks on who they are talking too.

Mitch expressed that Billy D. was the fans choice...had to appease the base by acting like they were after him...in reality, Billy Clyde was the real target!

Until you hear ESPN (Forde) or some local guy (possibly Ott) get wind at the last minute...no one really knows shite.

Anyway...it is entertaining and fun to read up on this...I just love the coaching revolving door game...I find it better than recruiting.

Oh well, looking forward to Zee's work in action.

Carry on!

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. As much fun as the speculation is, it's getting old to read the same "I've got sources, but won't reveal them" shite.

"High up TAF members" do not get called and told who the coach is...maybe the ones who give 6 figures do, but they don't blab about it.

I think we're better off just getting a guy who can play the x's and o's game, but the devil in me wants a big, sexy name. If we hired Brian Kelly, however, I might actually be ok with it.

I totally agree, no one knows how this will play out until it happens. Still fun to read however, makes us think we know shite when we really don't know anything!

The coach LSU hired after we fired McClendon, he died in a plane crash over the Atlantic on a recruiting trip. Apparently the pilot and occupants were asphyxiated and the plane flew till it ran out of gas. The media did track the last hour of the flight as a military plane scrambled when it went out over the ocean.

A joke in poor taste IMHO.

Personally, Brian Kelly would be my #1 choice. He has proven that he can win at any level.
