I think that was prety stupid on Bama's part

He wouldn't sign there otherwise

No, he doesn't, but I also heard he has a clause that he cannot leave for another SEC team.
I think we need a NEW coach. My choices are:
1) Jack Del Rio - Jax
2) JagsBrian Kelly - U of Cincinnati

I am almost 100% sure he doesn't have the SEC clause. I did have the link to his contract. I'll try to find it...

does it matter? he's not coming here, get over it

He can leave and go anywhere he wants to. Bama fires him, they pay the contract.

I was reading his contract just the other day, and that does not appear anywhere in it.
There is a website, don't recall it right off the bat, that lists the salaries of all 1-A coaches. It also has copies of most of the contracts as well.
Some interesting reading if you have the time. The way the salaries are expressed (very low salary for actually being the coach - say $250,000 a year, and the rest is made up as payment for football operations, etc.) will make you scratch your head.

The only clause that would really matter would be the clause in the contract stating he cannot have contact with any recruits that Bama has talked to for a period of 6-months. That would mean he couldn't recruit anybody he is already recruiting.

Fixed it for you.

I have been a long time reader, I was in BR a few years ago for the hurricanes im in the Alabama National Gaurd. Anyway I had a great time we stayed right across the street from Tiger stadium in a old train station or something like that. The fans were nice, feed us all day on gameday(LSU vs FL) it was a good experience. Now for my main reason for posting now, I think most LSU fans will agree there in no way CNS is going back to LSU. He may wish he had waited a year to come back so he could have went to LSU but not now, with everything that has been said and everything else considered he will be at Bama for at least 5 more years. Good luck finding a coach, I would like to see Butch Davis get the job I think he would do a great job over there and make the SEC West even tougher.
