After two years of prototyping, tweaking, and building, Martin Molin of the Swedish band Wintergatan finally debuted his enormous musical marble machine.
The melody is primarily carried by a vibraphone whose bars are hit by falling marbles, but it also includes small percussion and cymbals, as well as a bass guitar neck. It even has a “breakdown” arm, which is a literal brake that kills the instrument’s flywheel—that huge spinning circle that’s primarily responsible for the marble machine keeping time accurately.

Imagine what he could have built if he wanted to make something useful

Take that thing out to Jackson Square on a Saturday and I bet he could make Tree Fiddy in tips.

So we're brilliant enough to engineer something like that but dumb enough to take Donald Trump serious as a presidential candidate.
We are a very odd species

Gonna go out on a limb and say it started as some dudes thought while he was high.. Grabbed a computer and a cnc machine and went to town..

Probably but, still, the ingenuity is really impressive.

If he was feeling the Bern he would have to spend 40% of his time building free music machines for people who didn't want to build them for themselves.
FREE MUSIC FOR EVERYONE

That was awesome. The engineering is brilliant, and the sound was surprisingly rich. I wasn't expecting that at all. And how the dude learned to play it still has me scratching my head.
Nice find.
