Almost any creek. I would target the south end since there is grass there.

Right now man, just find a launch in a pocket and go fish. You can catch them everywhere, they're pretty much all up shallow. Look to see the wind direction and find a pocket that will let you be out of it.

I'll be there next week too.

Pops turns 60 and we got a north state park cabin booked Thurs-Sun. Right now it looks like the only time to fish will be when we're leaving

Don't let the high muddy water discourage you. Out there it probably won't get too terribly muddy anyway, you'll be pretty close to the main lake. Just fish creature baits shallow, up in the cypress and bushes.

Thanks. I hope there's some breaks in the weather enough to get out there.

I'm also keeping an eye the forecasts around Rayburn. Just to have possible back up plans.

DownSouthDave and I might make a trip out there this weekend as well depending on weather. Do you know of any good places to stay, from around the middle of the lake to the south.

White Perch tuned on down south this weekend over grass. Found them by accident catching a 2 lber and a 1 1/2 lber on back to back casts with a square bill. Dropped a marker and went back later with black and chart. jigs and had 48 in a little over 3 hours.

I had heard of people finding them like that Alxtgr. You know the stories of sitting in one spot and loading them down. That really was the first time it had actually had it happen to me. We found them in that grass in maybe 8ft of water, marked the spot and finished bass fishing, went and grabbed wife and kids, went back to the marker, dropped the anchor and didn't move again until it slowed down to a stop then i searched around a bit to see if they had moved a touch but nothing. But great action with the family for a solid 3 hrs. That made it worth while for me. Money can't buy that!

I catch them like that in May by the dam. Never been in the Spring at the right time. No idea when that May pattern starts. For all I know, one could catch them like that from now until June.

When you say you found them, you saw the fish on your sonar unit?

I'm not sure one places to stay. I know Big Bass has some rooms. Whatever you do, avoid Bass Haven. That place is a shite hole.

ETA on the Texas side Fin and Feather has some nice rooms, and it's in Housen.
