I know everyone here suggests weeding before feeding rather than using those weed and feed products. What do you suggest spreading across a centipede lawn to prevent spring weeds? I have heard 2-4D frequently, but the person at the local feed store said that is mainly for spot treatment and not spreading across an entire lawn. Besides, the liquid concentrate would be a pain in the arse to spread across an entire yard. Granular application is preferred.

Any suggestions?

liquid 24D actually works a lot better than the granular and is not difficult at all to cover a lawn with...however, you can mix it up in a garden sprayer and pretty easily catch all of the patches of weeds as they come up, if that is what you want to do...

If you want to do 2-4d, just get one of those hose end sprayers. They work pretty well

You can also add some marker dye in it so you can see your coverage

Where do I get this magic 2-4D that everyone speaks of. I just used weed b gone last year and it worked pretty well, but I want to give this a try.

What kills crab grass? I've sprayed the shite out of it with 2-4D and it spread last year.

Have they invented anything other than fire for torpedo grass in a centipede lawn? I've got it in mine and know that is coming more and more. Especially since the neighbors have it as well.

My issue is, half of my yard is centipede and the other half is bermuda.

Do i need different solutions for each section? I've got every kind of weed imaginable i think. Because i'm downhill from the rest of the neighborhood.

ETA - Looks like i can use 2-4D on most weeds, but will need a Crabgrass preventer as well? WeedBGon doesn't saying anything about crabgrass or torpedograss. Which are my two biggest issues most years,
