it is easy to forget that Chuck has known Jimmy all of his life. So Chuck knows the sum of Slippin' Jimmy McGill's exploits. We have only seen a very slim part of Jimmy McGill's life.
Sort of like living with a drug addict that gets clean. They will always be a drug addict and it is hard to forgive and forget and lose your cynicism. for Chuck it appears to be impossible for him to lose his cynicism and based on the shady stuff Jimmy is doing, Chuck is completely right to be cynical.
