Nothing wrong with Hoover... played real good teams
You sure? 18 hits in 9.1 innings...she is much better than that I don't care who the opponent is...perhaps something is bothering her albeit minor.

No and I;m very good friends with her high school coach. I almost forgot about her

I was in Palm Springs to see it. She made a couple of mistake pitchers and so did everyone else. Don't push the panic button.

Cool. I saw she hadn't pitched yet and was wondering if she might just call it quits.

I was impressed with Jaquish on D this weekend.
Serrett definitely was the surprise. I guess we still need to figure out the lead off. I still think it will be Griggs or Landry, we just need consistency.
Yea my lineup is
Serrett in LF
Sanchez at 2B,
Griggs in CF
everyone else in their normal positions
DH we can use Quinn, Thornhill, maybe even Satchell,

Now that I made it back to Houston, I'll make it a point to check on McDuffie.

Now that I'm back home in Houston, I'm going to say what I wanted to say in Palm Springs this morning and get it out of my system.
EDUCOTE! Don't you ever fricking question my credibility as a softball coach or fan of my Alma Mater. My career record as a high school and travel ball coach, plus running the Texas Softball Coaches Associaton and hosting a coaches clinic with close to 500 attendees with speakers like Beth, Patty Gasso, Mikr Candrea, Patrick Murphy, Mike White, Jo Evans, etc gives ne credibilty. Plus I'm a Diamond Backer and I make 8+ trips from Houston every year.
You make ridiculous post and then when get called on, you either delete or change your tune.
If you love the girls so much and are such a fan, then you would support the team and coaches. Saying that Beth made decisions because her hormones were off was the most asinine sexism thing I've ever read...and you have daughters..what would they say? If you said that about my wife, you might end up in the hospital after I get through with you.
I coached softball on high school and travel ball for almost 30 years and a comment like that would get you fired.
Next, you did call for certain players to transfer and then denied it today and even bent over backwards trying to talk an out how great they are. Those parents know and they know who you are and that you do attend the diamond backer tailgates.
Best thing you can do is to stay quiet. You know, I may be too positive at times, but I'm Damn sure I'm not going to vent any complaints about our TIGER athletes on this, or any board. They are OUR players and we need to support them.
Like I told the coaches once, I don't have to agree with every decision, just like I'm sure they wouldn't agree with all of mine if I was the coach. It's the nature of the business. But our staff has earned the benefit of the doubt for the success they have had and have set us up to have in the future.
So my advice to you is if you don't have anything good to say, better to keep it to yourself.
I'm done and I'll be at the games this weekend provided my elderly mother is still in good enough health for me to take a short trip a 2nd weekend in a row.

Definitely will do that. Thanks for having my back today. I was about to blow a gasket in California today until y'all took over.

From watching all the games so far think Serrett deserves the starting spot. Hitting over .400 and a great defensive player. She was also sitting on the bench the two games we lost!!! Switch her between SS and LF - seems to play well at either.
Probably have to start Quinn at 2B with the hot bat and DP Sanchez \ Thornhill at this point.

I think we continue to see Quinn/Sanchez alternate. If Quinn continues with the errors, I see Sanchez grabbing the position. Quinn can DH.

Sanchez will be the starter by midseason I would think.
DP will be up for grabs. Someone is going to have to take it. 2 weeks against so so pitching doesn't tell anything really. We'll learn more as these games pick up against coaches that know each other very well.

18 did you hear anything about Paige McDuffee while you were around then UCLA fans? She was once the future of LSU and has never been healthy at UCLA.
She is on the UCLA roster, but not on the stats sheet for this year. I do remember watching them play A&M the week before on the ESPN app and the announcers said that there were a lot of injuries and they only brought 12 to College Station and only 2 pitchers.
I'm assuming she's hurt again. I'll see her high school coach on Thursday and you can ask me again on Friday when I go to BR.

Yes illegal presentation is an illegal pitch. It's been that way all 30 years I coached. If you put the ball in the glove, take it out, and put it back in again...it's illegal
Thats not called Illegal presentation?? pitch starts when your hands are brought together.....and bringing it out the glove makes it illegal....if it does not start the pitch....you cant go back to the glove 2

If you step on the rubber with the ball in your glove, once you pull it out you have to pitch. You cannot put it back into the glove. If you step on the rubber with the ball in your hand, you can go to the glove once, but then you have to pitch. You cannot remove and replace the ball from your glove while on the rubber. I don't know the name of the rule, but that's the way the rule has always been described to me.

That's what I said we did ... I used the term to help those that don't know the rule.
Plain and simple -- it's an illegal pitch...
BTW -- that umpire called it 6 times -- 5 on first UCLA pitcher and once on Carley. I was watching really hard as I was sitting behind homeplate, and it was really hard to catch it. This umpire must have been really looking for this specifically. It wasn't called on any other field we played on the entire weekend.
