We have limited cap room just enought to sign a role player. Looking at the asking price I wouldn't be surprised if Ryan was resigned. At most we get a top 10 pick and maybe sign Bazemore.

That depends on the direction the team chooses. Dump Tyreke and don't resign Ryno and you've got around $28-$32 in cap space give or take ADs Rose Rule. I think the real question is who can you get with that money and the same FO. Demps is probably a bigger impediment to change, not lack of cap space.

If Demps is gone I say heck no.

I think you'll see a new GM trying to facilitate sign and trades of EG and Ryno, trying to move Tyreke into space, signing a wing, and most of the role players switched around. If it's a new GM, I think you see 5-7 new players.

If it's Demps...one or 2 moves, 3-4 new players.

Who will sign and trade for either guy when they can just sign them outright? Evans/Anderson S/T were when they were RFA.

They're not stuck with this team, but there aren't a lot of exciting moves I can see. Free agents are meh, everyone has cap space, and no legit help is itching to play on this dumpster fire. They could get into bidding wars for middling guys, but that's dumb.

Bigger impediment than Demps himself is what Benson/Loomis want. Keep Demps, fire him, whatever. If they still want to "compete" this team will continue to make dumb moves. Maybe a Dumars/respected voice as a consigliere can get them to avoid shortsighted mistakes, but that's assuming Dumars has learned lessons from his own free agency blunders. BIG assumption. Too bad Silver didn't step and force the Pels to hire Colangelo

I said "trying" to. It's very unlikely, but a new GM is going to be active. I think you'll see a guy make moves just to turn the roster over. Moves to set up the next move and the next offseason.

There aren't many options. Toronto is stuck with no way to improve their roster other than trades now. But with what Ryno will be signing the salary limits your return to pretty much Patterson and Ross. You have to want those assets, you won't be getting any flexible, future assets like picks.

Tyreke is coming off a season of 3 knee surgeries why do you people think he can be moved so easy?

Sure

I don't think Toronto has as much interest in Anderson as this board does. You should listen to the Lowe Post with Stein- I linked it in the lsuhornet thread. Does Anderson really move the needle for them so much that they give him 4/$80 to lose one good rotation player and a young guy on a decent long term contract? I don't think so. Plus, Carroll will become more of a 4 as he ages.

Not easy at all. But there may be a market for him since his cap hit will be cheap. Maybe a team doesn't hit this summer or doesn't like their options.

But, again, the larger point is how the braintrust feels about any of these moves. Like ATL says, Evans isn't getting some big haul of picks. They were unwilling to move Anderson or Gordon for less than what they determined was fair, not so sure it would be different with Evans

Also add on the Anderson front- he makes more sense in NO than in Toronto. Yes, they need an upgrade at the 4, but that doesn't mean Anderson makes sense there.

Who's the alleged rim protector there to help cover his mistakes? JVal/Anderson seems very shaky as a twosome. You can't play him as a 5 either. Then, if they move Patterson, they move a 4 that covers some of his weaknesses.

Why can't they just approach Brooklyn this summer and see about Thad Young, who will be 3/$38?

One sign and trade I could see would be Anderson to Detroit for Motiejunas. He's an RFA. He's a 5 with skills on both sides. HUGE injury concerns, but maybe his price will be cheaper.

Assuming he can pass a physical and the price is just absorbing Tyreke and maybe a 2nd, do you think no team would be interested in dropping $10 million on a 15/5/5 guy instead of paying a lot more for a lot longer to this crap class of FAs that are going to benefit greatly from cap escalation? Someone is going to pay Ryno $15+ for 3-4 years or more. Tyreke for 1 year at $10 million is a relative bargain to what the rest of the market is going to be getting and you don't tie up cap space long term like in 2017 when the FA class matches up better with the escalated cap. I'm not sure I want us using cap space on FAs this year. I'd rather absorb useful guys that their teams may no longer want like Tyreke.

It'd not doubting his talent I like Tyreke but he just missed a whole season. I don't see any team willing to take that huge of a chance with that big of an injury. I just hope we don't re-sign Ryan. That would be such a big mistake. We need defenders not more scorers.

That's what trade physicals are for. Remember OKC voided a Tyson Chandler trade we made after they checked him out and didn't like what they saw. And remember that time we got Philly to take only one pick for Jrue because our medical staff saw something they didn't like?

Wish we could get rookie year Tyreke. He looked like the next star and the face of the Kings.

Averaged 20/5/5. First rookie to do it since LeBron

The way Tyreke was playing this season with his shooting I have no doubt this would have been his best season.

Could we possibly sign Derozan or Horford?

No and no, we don't have the cap and I think they stay on their teams. I would love Horford but not Derozan. They wouldn't sign here anyway.
