No vacations this year. The economy is in bad shape. Not a good time to blow 10 grand.

Or plan better/cheaper.

My mom travels the world and her costliest expense is her elite status with the airlines.

She's no baller but has 98 countries under her belt, over 50 at least twice, and it's because she doesn't stay in lavish places.

I hear BVIs are nice. St. Barths is where I'd like to go in that region of the world.

BVI is ridiculous. I can't wait to get back there.

St. Barths is beautiful and $$$$$. Great island with mostly great food and some really nice beaches.

That house in Pedregal?

Grand Solmar at Land's End....top floor 4 BR suite with huge patio, pool, hot tub...6,300 sq feet.

It's a killer setup, probably the best in Cabo (outside of a house up on the hill).

How many people go? The max I travel with is six so we keep it at about half that square footage or less. Generally 2-4 bedrooms depending on who is going.

We stayed here on St. Martin

Damn, never done that. Sounds like an awesome time particularly if you have a boy.

Last time I went it was rated much lower than I felt it should have been.

No problem...we're doing it for 8 days so I'm sure we'll get to it...

We are very experienced, so we'll see

We will be taking plenty of these

but I don't really consider long weekend trips "vacation"

I'm sure we will go to Austin, NOLA, maybe Destin over the year

several camping/kayaking trips to MS and Arkansas

just no major trips

preparing for the worse, ya know?

Me, wife (no pics), our 2 kids, my folks and her folks.... 8 total.

If we didn't have small kiddos that loved to play on the beach, we would definitely get a house up on the hill.

Thompson Hotels were coming to Cabo, curious if anyone has been to their rooftop bar, the view looks awesome.
