Peyton and Elway are not getting along apparently.

Dumb move by Elway, IMO. I guess they can tank next year to get a high draft pick the following year, or look to trade Manning for a high draft pick this year. Who knows what he will do.

Why would Denver tank after winning nearly every game and the Super Bowl with defense? Peyton Manning hurt more than helped this season.

Manning has no reason to return next year.

Why he would even consider playing another year is beyond me. Unless some perfect situation came up

Not really, Peyton was atrocious this year

Their defense will still be excellent and Osweiler will likely be better than Manning

I highly doubt they'd tank for a rookie QB, given that their defense just put on one of the best defensive displays in years during their postseason run.

If he does come back, he's still under contract with Denver, IIRC. They could just trade him to the LA Rams or Houston Texans, 2 teams rumored to be interested in him. Either way, he won't play with Denver next year and would be wise to retire.

You could argue the Broncos will be even better next season, if they can keep that defense in tact.

2016 Brock (with some starting experience under his belt) will arguably be A LOT better than 2015 Peyton.

I'll trust Elway's opinion more than yours.

Absolutely. Osweiler having a whole offseason to work with the 1's/Thomas and Sanders should go a long ways as well. If they can run it well enough so he doesn't have to do too much early on they should be the primary contenders again in the AFC with New England and favorites in the AFC West

We need to resign Malik Jackson, Danny Trevathan, Brandon Marshall and Von Miller so we can franchise tag Brock Osweiler. Malik Jackson will probably walk and get paid big money, and Von Miller will likely get the franchise tag. Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan are immensely underrated middle linebackers and I really want them back. David Bruton is another guy I would like to see resigned.

neither team would give up something to pay his current contract.

Peyton to the Rams.

Hopefully the NFL schedule-markers put the Rams/Patriots game in late November/early December so it's snowy in Foxboro.
