Chavis already had Miles on a leash. Les was never going to remove him though he wasn't recruiting or working very hard for three years. How the hell does Aranda become an issue if Chavis is still here. And Brick was going to be here as long as Chavis was. Les was holding himself back because of his fear of change. Change was forced on him and he has reacted to it very well.
Correction: Fear is the wrong word. I don't think Les fears change. He is just very resistant to it if he feels things are going well enough.
