pools are a money pit.

having said that, we bought a house with a liner pool/chlorine.

rolled liner replacement into closing costs of house and thanks to TROUBLEFREEPOOL.COM (check it out) maintaining it costs next to nothing.

the secret: lots of chlorox bleach from sams and arm & hammer baking soda.

99% of your pool issues will be solved with those 2 things and a good water testing kit.

you dont need algaesides or SHOCk or any of that other $$$$$ pool stores try to sell you.

thats about the sum of it.

We found a house we liked already that had one. Been in this house 4 years, it's getting used less and less. At this point becoming yard jewelry. Looks nice.

My wife and I are in our mid 40's with 4 teenage kids and we use ours more then the kids do. At the same time we had the pool put in I bought an 8 person hot tub that needed some work.

I've got the hot tub working and built a new cabinet for it. There isn't a week that goes by that one of them doesn't get used, especially the hot tub in the winter.

We're even thinking about getting a heat pump for the pool that'll heat and cool the water.

If y'all like the outdoors and the water, do it.
